At London Comic con, JStew spoke with an artist he had admired since the 90’s – Tom Grummett. They chatted about working on the Death of Superman story, co creating the Cadmus version of Super boy and working with Chris Claremont on X-Men Forever.
JStew and Sara J were very excited to interview Dee Wallace at Frightmare in the Falls, They discussed her career and talked about her roles in E.T. and the Frighteners.

As we were exiting Hamilton Comicon we saw one of the most amazing cosplays ever. It was the Rocketeer and we learned the cosplayers name was Darkly Designed. We were introduced to her by our wonderful friend Elizabeth and then she graciously granted us an interview. Her work is amazing and we were extremely happy to chat with her.

At this years Cambridge Comic Arts festival we were joined by the great Stephany Lein. We talked about her brand spanking new comic – Shelly 2 and found out about her love of the Simpsons.
At the Cambridge Comic Arts festival we ran into our old buddy Jason Ward. Recently Jason released his first children book called My Favorite Hero and we got the scoop on it.
We Got the Geek returned to the Cambridge Comic arts festival for the fifth year in a row. once again we chatted with the shows founder Alfonso Espinos. This was his 46th appearance on the show and we spoke about what he might like to do with his 5oth. We also chatted about some of the books that were making their debut at the show.
Recently at The Fresh Kills Con we spoke with our old friend and honorary member of We Got The Geek – Dr Stevil. this time out he was dressed in a zombie version of his character. Subjects talked about include New York and Area 51.
JStew and Sara J were extremely honored to interview via phone an actor they both admire a lot, Peter Capaldi. Mr Capaldi has been in a lot of fantastic projects but is perhaps best known for playing the 12th Doctor on Doctor Who. They spoke about his time as the Doctor and about his upcoming appearance at Fan Expo in Toronto this coming August 24th and 25th. At fresh kills con, Sara Jayne interviewed actor/ puppeteer Allan Trautman. Mr Trautman is best known for his work with the Jim Henson Company, the Muppets, and as the Tarman zombie in “Return of the Living Dead.”
Recently we attended the final Jace Wars fundraiser. The event has been near and dear to our hearts. We have been proud to have been asked to help every year. This year The founder of Jace Wars – Aaron Russell gave us the task of recording an audio scrapbook with friends and family. Here it is, hope you all enjoy it

On May 24th we were extremely fortunate to see a band that we loved growing up – the Box. Colin and JStew discuss the show and venue and talk about their music.
JStew and Colin were honored to interview a singer they had admired since the 80’s – Jean Marc from the band the Box. They achieved commercial success in Canada, with four charting albums and 10 charting singles between 1984 and 1990. The group broke up in 1992, but a new lineup of the band was formed in 2005. They were in town to do a show at the Seneca Queen Theatre. During the interview Jean Marc spoke about the music he was influenced by, what it’s like playing with he new version off the Box and who he would pick to play himself in a movie about him. Our thanks to the Seneca, the management of the band and Jean Marc himself for taking the time to speak with us right before his sound check.
Once again JStew and Sara J celebrated free comic book day at Sketchbook Comics. We were joined by Geoff and Teri in a lively discussion about comics, Endgame and Shazam.
Once again the Canalside players are putting on another play in Welland. The play is being directed by our very own Sara J. JStew and Sara discussed the play with the wonderful cast that has been assembled.
On Tuesday March 26th JStew and Colin were given the opportunity to go to Centre in The Square in Kitchener to review The Crash Test Dummies and Grapes of Wrath show. Here is what they thought about the concert and venue. A big thank you to William Muir for making this happen.

At the Frightmare in the Falls event JStew and Sara J spoke with actor Tom Atkins. Mr Atkins has a tremendous body of work including Lethal Weapon and Escape from New York. He even has an action figure of himself being released soon. We had a wonderful time speaking to him about some of his key roles.
We were extremely honored to interview an actress that we have admired in so many movies and shows – Adrienne Barbeau. We were very happy to get the chance to talk to her bout her various projects including Swamp Thing, Batman the animated series and of course Escape from New York. JStew and Sara J once again attended Hamilton Comic Con. On this episode we spoke with our cosplayer friends Candy Cosplay, Loki-Quinn Cosplay, PPhoto and Alex Rose. We also chatted with Alfonso from Studio Comix who had an exciting announcement for us.
At this years Hamilton Comic Con we were lucky enough to speak with actor Bernard Robichaud. He is known for playing Cyrus on The Trailer Park boys and Kirk on Haven. We discussed how he got into acting as well as his roles.

One of our big highlights at NF Comicon this year was meeting DiVinica artist Dawn McTeigue. she recently did a beautiful cover for the upcoming Batman issue 50 in which Batman marries Cat Woman. We learned about how she broke into comics and found out about the series DiVinica. JStew was also lucky enough to have been the moderator at her panel. We all became instant big fans of her work. We would also like to thank our friend Stacey Clarke for taking the photos at the panel.

This past weekend – June 2nd and 3rd – We attended Niagara Falls Comic Con. this year was kind of special as JStew was asked to moderate four panels. In between that we managed to record with some of our friends to make sure our new weekly show got out. Joining us this week are Jason Ward from Tri City Studio, Leslie Doyle. While we were at Toronto Comicon we were able to interview a terrific cosplayer named ShadowStorm Cosplay. She was dressed as Rey from Star Wars but she also has a wide variety of amazing costumes. Her Rocket Raccoon is so great that she was asked to appear at the Canadian premiere of Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 2 with Michael Rooker himself. We talked with her about her craft and the creation of her cosplays.

On February 18th the We Got The Geek podcast reached a milestone – we celebrated our five year anniversary.We have come a long way since 2013 and we were feeling very proud of the work that we have done. JStew, Sara J and Sarah WaterRaven got together to remember some good times – that was followed by a trip to Toronto Comicon where they were joined by some friends of the show – Dr Stevil, Alfonso from StudioComix, Mz Hyde Cosplay and Candy Cosplay,PPhoto and Loki Quinn Cosplay. Also – continuing a tradition that started in 2017 we inducted Loki Quinn Cosplay and Dr Stevil into the We Got The Geek hall of fame. thanks to everyone out there for coming along for the ride and sharing our journey with us
At Toronto Comicon JStew and Sara J had the honor of speaking with actor John Wesley Shipp. Mr Shipp played the lead role on The Flash from 1990 to 1991 and Henry Allen and Jay Garrick on the current Flash series on The CW. We talked about the differences in working on both series and what it’s been like working with Grant Gustin and Mark Hamill. We wanted to thank him for the wonderful interview and being the nicest guy we ever recorded with. Thanks also to the folks of Toronto Comicon for setting this up.
JStew attended a rehearsal for a great new play that will be debuting in Welland soon called Bare Bear Bones. During a break in the action, he spoke with director Sara Tellier and some of the cast. Take a listen to hear the details of the play and find out where you can purchase tickets.

At a recent con – our friend Alfonso unveiled a calendar for 2018 that Studio Comix had put together. its a wonderful calendar that features the talent of the following cos players – Candy Cosplay, AngelicLuka Cosplay, The Lauryn Show, Loki – Quinn cosplay and Shadow Storm Cosplay. Most of those cosplayers and Alfonso were on hand to talk about their project with JStew , Sara J and WaterRaven. There is also a guest appearance from Gru himself. As an added bonus this was our 650th segment. We were so proud that we did this one with so many of our favorite people.
This year our halloween was jam packed. We spent the afternoon at the wonderful Sketchbook Comics. Included on this recording are two segments from the store – featuring a talk with store owner Geoff about comics and movies. In between those two segments is a quick piece we did at the geekery with Sarah WaterRaven and Candy Cosplay and the mighty Josh that same day at a very successful cosplay contest that we hosted. He is currently writing marvel’s flagship character Spider-man. we asked him if he had gotten to say everything he wanted to with Howard and if he had been nervous getting the call to write a Spider-man series
